Millions of Americans receive Social Security retirement, survivor, or disability benefits each month. However, not every beneficiary is scheduled to receive a payment on the same date.
Under the Social Security Administration’s payment calendar, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, is reserved for only one group of beneficiaries. As a result, two major groups of recipients are not eligible to receive a regular Social Security payment on that date under current law.
Here’s who is ineligible and why.
Group 1: Beneficiaries Already Paid Earlier in June
The largest group that will not receive a Social Security payment on Wednesday, June 24 consists of beneficiaries whose monthly payment was already issued earlier in the month.
This includes:
Birthdays Between the 1st and 10th
If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of any month, your June benefit was scheduled for:
Wednesday, June 10, 2026
Birthdays Between the 11th and 20th
If you were born between the 11th and 20th, your June payment was sent on:
Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Beneficiaries Who Started Receiving Benefits Before May 1997
People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997 follow a different payment schedule. Instead of receiving benefits based on their birth date, they generally receive their payment on the 3rd day of each month.
For June 2026, that payment was issued on:
Wednesday, June 3, 2026
People Receiving Both Social Security and SSI
Recipients who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) also follow a separate schedule.
For June 2026:
- SSI payment: June 1
- Social Security payment: June 3
Because these beneficiaries have already received their June payments, they are not scheduled to receive another regular benefit on June 24.
Group 2: People Who Do Not Qualify for Social Security Benefits
The second group consists of individuals who simply do not qualify for Social Security retirement, survivor, or disability benefits under current federal law.
Examples include people who:
- Have not earned enough Social Security work credits to qualify for retirement or disability benefits.
- Do not qualify for survivor or spousal benefits under SSA rules.
- Filed for benefits before meeting the program’s eligibility requirements.
- Are otherwise ineligible under current Social Security law.
These individuals are not scheduled to receive any Social Security payment, including on June 24.
Who WILL Receive a Payment on June 24?
The only beneficiaries scheduled to receive a regular Social Security payment on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, are those who:
- Receive retirement, survivor, or SSDI benefits under the regular payment schedule.
- Were born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If both conditions apply, your June benefit should be deposited on June 24.
June 2026 Social Security Payment Calendar
| Payment Date | Recipients |
|---|---|
| June 1 | Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients |
| June 3 | Beneficiaries who began receiving Social Security before May 1997 and most people receiving both SSI and Social Security |
| June 10 | Birthdays from the 1st–10th |
| June 17 | Birthdays from the 11th–20th |
| June 24 | Birthdays from the 21st–31st |
What If Your Payment Doesn’t Arrive?
Most Social Security benefits are sent through direct deposit. If your payment does not arrive on its scheduled date, the Social Security Administration recommends waiting three additional mailing days before reporting a missing payment.
If your benefit is still missing after that period, you should contact the SSA or check your online Social Security account for updates.
Bottom Line
Under the SSA’s current payment schedule, only beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st who receive retirement, survivor, or SSDI benefits under the regular schedule are eligible for a payment on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Everyone else either received their June benefit earlier in the month or does not currently qualify for Social Security benefits under federal law.
